The Merrick, Long Island native has been performing comedy for the last few years in and around New York City where she is highly regarded and admired by her peers. She recently also began training as an actress and performed in her first play in the T.S.I PlayTime Series play - Ha! Dontchagetit! by Ray Payton. Melanie is a rigorous performer who is constantly writing, refining and honing her act.

Melanie came into Stand-Up Comedy later in life after feeling like her soul was being sucked out of her in her now infamous Project Management position, in Melanie's words "When you're a kid no one has the childhood dream of becoming a Project Manager, when I was little what I really wanted to be was a Hooker". In her new quest to find her passion in life Melanie turned to comedy after realizing her family was Jackie Mason times four and going to see Janeane Garofalo at the Beekman Theater in NYC. "I have always been a huge fan of comedy growing up with Eddie Murphy, George Carline, Alan King, and Jackie Mason". Melanie then took a stand-up comedy class with Tommy Koenig at the Comics Studio where she felt like she finally found her calling. Now equipped with the knowledge and confidence to pursue her new found dream she began tirelessly performing at open mics, underground comedy shows, major clubs and founded and co-produced her own Stand-Up Comedy show called LaughSucka! in the East Village.

Melanie's comedy is derived from her own life experiences with her psychologist parents, being an atheist Jew, dating, sex, hip-hop music, her love of sex, violence and cursing, especially if it's Science Fiction, interactions with friends and the stupidity of society, religion and politics. Melanie says "To this date my idols are George Carlin and Chris Rock for intellectually and irreverently shredding society, politics and the bulls&*t of everyday life".

Melanie currently resides in a small studio apartment in the East Village with her 3 cats, Neo, Vader, and Obi-Wan.
